Whether it’s with spirulina, cacao, maca or chia, a smoothie is a great way to incorporate powdered, nutrient dense superfoods into your diet. Here are a couple of my go-to superfood smoothie recipes. Apart from being an omega-3 and fibre rich superfood, chia is the magic ingredient in both these recipes, acting as a natural thickening agent.
Because spinach and alkalising greens powders tend to be rather mild in flavour (yet loaded with nutrients like folate from the spinach), this actually tastes like a banana smoothie more than anything.
Add all ingredients to a blender, adding the spinach last. Cover and blend until smooth. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes, allowing it to thicken up. Pour into a tall glass/jar/wine glass and enjoy!

Antioxidant-rich goji or inca berries make the perfect finishing touch to a green salad. They’re also awesome sprinkled on a shredded red cabbage and carrot salad, adding an extra pop of colour and a little tartness. Dress with 100% tahini, a pinch of salt and lemon juice and voila!
